The Asset Transaction file stores detailed records of asset transactions that
update the general ledger. A record is created or updated in this file each
time an asset is added, transferred, disposed of, or retired, or when
depreciation is calculated.
When they are posted, records in this file are updated to a posted status and
are used for reporting in the Asset Management system.

AMT-ASSET Element: Asset | Numeric 10 The asset number associated with the
asset transaction.
The asset number contains up to ten
numeric characters that uniquely
identify an asset. Assets are
automatically numbered system-wide.

transaction to keep records unique.

leased asset.

AMT-ASSET-GROUP Element: Asset Group | Alpha 10 The asset group with which the asset is
associated.

AMT-TRANS-DATE Element: Transaction Date | Numeric 8 (yyyymmdd) The date of the transaction. Used for
posting the asset transaction to the
general ledger.

when this was created.

AMT-ASSET-TYPE Element: Asset Type | Alpha 10 An asset type represents a grouping of
like assets. Asset types are used to
group assets into reporting classes and
to default common asset definition data.

detailed grouping of assets within an
asset type grouping. Asset subtypes are
used to group assets into reporting
classes and allow common asset
definition data to default. Subtypes
must be unique within an asset type.

AMT-ACTIVITY Element: Activity | Alpha 15 The activity assigned to the asset
transaction.
Activities are the processes or
procedures that produce work. Cost
objects (products, services, customers,
and so on) are the reasons for
performing the activity. Activities and
cost object activities are used
synonymously in the Lawson Activity
Management system.

AMT-ACCT-CATEGORY Element: Account Category | Alpha 5 The account category assigned to the
asset transaction.
Account categories are groupings of
costs, revenues, or a combination of
both used for reporting and inquiries
for activities in the Lawson Activity
Management system. All transactions are
posted to an account category within an
activity.

AMT-TRAN-ND Transaction Number of Decimals | Numeric 1 The number of decimals assigned to a
particular account as determined by the
account currency.

assigned to all asset transactions for a
given process.

AMT-GLT-OBJ-ID Element: Object ID | Numeric 12 This is the object identifier. It is
used to relate commitments or posted
transactions back to the originating
subsystems. Each subsystem record that
is updated as a commitment or posted
transaction is assigned an object
identifier. The object identifier is
maintained in the subsystem files and in
the Activity Commitments Detail and
Activity Transaction files. The object
identifier is a unique key used to drill
back from Activity Management to the
subsystems.
