The Asset Type file stores asset types and subtypes, which represent
groupings of like assets that can be used for reporting and defaulting common
asset definition data. You must define at least one asset type. Asset types
must be unique within a general ledger company, and asset subtypes must be
unique within an asset type. Each Asset Type record has one or more Account
records, which identify the general ledger accounts used to create journal
entries when you process (add, adjust, transfer, and dispose of) assets.
