GL Account Category

The GL Account Category file is a master file that defines the inventory and offset general ledger accounts used to post inventory transactions. Examples include issues, receipts, and adjustments of physical inventory count variances. A valid category code is assigned to each location where items are tracked.

ICA-COMPANY Element: Company	Numeric 4 Identifies the AP company if the resource type = V. Identifies the HR company if the resource type = E. It is blank for type A, P or Q resources.
ICA-LOCATION Element: Location	Alpha 5 This field contains a valid stocking location within the company inventory.
ICA-GL-CATEGORY Element: Gl Category	Alpha 4 This field is used to extract the appropriate account numbers for any inventory movement.
ICA-ACTIVE-STATUS Element: Active Status	Alpha 1 This field is used to limit the use of a general ledger category code. A = Active I = Inactive
ICA-DESCRIPTION Element: Description	Alpha 30 (Lower Case) This field is used to describe the general ledger category code.
ICA-USED-FL Element: Used Fl	Alpha 1 This field indicates whether the general ledger category has been used on the Item Location file. N = No Y = Yes
