Major Class

The Major Class file contains the major class codes which are entered on Item Master records. There are three different types of major classes: inventory, sales, and purchasing.

FIELD NAME	DESCRIPTION/VALID VALUES	UPDATED BY
MAJ-ITEM-GROUP Element: Item Group	Alpha 5 This field contains the identifier for a group of items that can be shared by one or more companies.
MAJ-CLASS-TYPE Element: Class Type	Alpha 1 This field indicates which group of classes is assigned to this record. I = Inventory Class P = Purchasing Class S = Sales Class F = Freight Class
MAJ-MAJOR-CLASS Element: Major Class	Alpha 4 This field contains a classification for a group of items within the class type.
MAJ-DESCRIPTION Element: Description	Alpha 30 (Lower Case) This field contains the description of the major class.
MAJ-ACTIVE-STATUS Element: Active Status	Alpha 1 This field contains the status of the major class which controls the use of the major class. A = Active I = Inactive
