SL00.1 - User Analysis Values

Use User Analysis Values (SL00.1) to define and maintain a user analysis. A user analysis is a flexible, user-defined element, much like an accounting unit or account, that stores transaction information to measure profitability. You can use a user analysis in all subsystems that report and post data to the General Ledger system. For example, you can use a user analysis to define multiple business data elements that increase your ability to determine profitability bycustomer, product, and channel. **More Information For each user analysis, you can define the specific values you want to measure profitability for. If you choose not to define values, you can type any user analysis value in transactions. However, that value is not saved in this form and used in that transaction only. There are two methods to create your user analysis structure. You can define a new user analysis using this program or use SL60.1 (User Analysis Interface Relationship) to convert your current user analysis structure from a non-Lawson environment, such as a spreadsheet, to the Lawson StrategicLedger system. See SL60 for additional information. The following is an example for a retail company. (The user analyses are across the top with user analysis values going down.) For each user analysis value, you can assign a class. The class is a unique identifier for the user analysis value. You can use the class to group user analysis values and to assign specific user analysis values to a general ledger account number. You must define the class in SL00.4 (Define ValueClass) before you assign it on this form. For more information on using a class to assign specific user analysis values to an account number, see SL02.1 (User Analysis Value Relations). The values you define on this form must meet the requirements you select on SL00.2 (Define User Analysis). For example, if you are defining an Alpha Numeric user analysis with a field size of 4, define user analysis values A001, A002, B001, etc. SL00.1 contains the following buttons to define your user analysis value structure. See each buttons form and field help for additional information. Choose the New User Analysis button to open SL00.2 (Define User Analysis). Use this subform to define a user analysis name, type a description of the user analysis, and select user analysis parameters such as the data used to define the user analysis, and the field size. Choose the Blank Value button to open SL00.3 (Blank User Analysis Value). Use this subform to define a blank value as valid user analysis value. You must define a description of the blank value for it to be valid. Choose the Att button to open SL00.5 (Attributes). Use this subform to assign attribute values to a user analysis. After you define user analyses, define a user analysis group using SL01.1 (User Analysis Group). You can run SL200 (User Analysis Listing) to list the user analyses.
