Digital Adoption Solutions – Digital adoption solutions, or DAS, aims to accelerate employee adoption by cutting through the complexity of a company’s enterprise systems and integrating real-time, context-sensitive, on-screen prompts into an application.

Elevated Employee Experience – The makeup of the workforce has changed significantly, which is prompting different approaches to employee training and retention. One such change is the growing population of remote workers. Employers are making efforts to align their training and retention strategies for these types of employees.

Learning In The Flow Of Work – Global industry analyst Josh Bersin identifies a new concept called “Learning in the Flow of Work,” which recognizes that for learning to really happen, it must fit around and align itself to working days and working lives. Wearables, smart electronic hands-free devices, have not only peaked interest for the everyday user, but has been a huge asset in other fields such as health and logistics. The latter, for example, shows the benefits of wearables being used in supply-chain processes and management. Kristen Herhold shares an article on supplychainbrain.com of the many ways wearable technology has aided in supply-chain efficiency and has since increased productivity within warehouses and all throughout organizations.

 

Minimize Manual Labor – Wearables streamline warehouse workflows by removing manual steps from day-to-day processes. Simple things such as barcode scanners are being quickly recorded real-time by wearable and mobile devices, quickening logistics processes. “Scanner-enabled wearables allow employees to automatically send reports to management that would otherwise have to be manually typed in,” says Herhold.

 

Provide Comprehensive Data – Wearables allow businesses to monitor their workers’ physical activity, location, and health. Similar to how professionals are using these devices in the healthcare field, these devices with biometric sensors report the health and wellness of employees, especially if most require physical labor at warehouses. Herhold notes that the data collected by warehouse wearables gives management the opportunity to better serve workers’ needs.

 

Offer Real-Time Feedback – Wearables are a smart device, so it usually means that any activity inputted and recorded is sent to another device or database where others in the network are given immediate access to data, in real time. Voice headsets, for example, connect to a phone on the user and increase the accuracy of warehouse work through real-time feedback.

Recently we ran into the dreaded “Unable to load” error message in Portal, and could not find any indication of why Portal couldn’t load.  The most we could see through a Fiddler trace is that the sso.js file was getting a 500 error.  There was nothing logged anywhere.  Not on the WebSphere node, application server, nothing in ios, security, event viewer.  Nothing!  We figured WebSphere had to be the culprit, because sso.js is wrapped up in an ear file in WAS_HOME, and everything on the Portal side was working until it tried to hit that script.  So, we started digging into WebSphere and figured out that one of the certs was expired on the Node.  For some reason, a custom wildcard cert had been used for the WebSphere install on the node only.  We opted to switch it to use the default self-signed cert, which was not expired, and was the solution that worked best for us.  Another option would, of course, be to upload a new wildcard cert and switch the old one to the new one.

To switch a cert in WebSphere, go to Security > SSL certificate and key management > Key stores and certificates.  Select the NodeDefaultKeyStore of the node you want to change, and under additional properties on the right, select “Personal certificates”.  Click your “old” cert and select “Replace”.  Select the “new” certificate that is replacing the old one.  Check the “Delete old Certificate after replacement” box.

Bounce WebSphere services, or better yet, reboot.  And you should be good to go!

 

 

 

An affiliate of Koch Equity Development LLC, the investment and acquisition subsidiary of Koch Industries, Inc., has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the remaining equity stake in Infor held by Golden Gate Capital. Infor will become a standalone subsidary of Koch Industries at the close of the transaction and will continue to operate from its headquarter in New York City with the current management team. Koch has been an investor of Infor since 2017 and is considered a key enterprise partner. With this equity acquirement, Koch intends to quickly position Infor as one of the most well-capitalized companies in technology. Kevin Samuelson, CEO of Infor, says of the purchase, “Koch’s decision to acquire Infor is a strong endorsement of our product strategy and focus on creating innovative solutions for our customers. As a subsidiary of a $110 billion+ revenue company that re-invests 90% of earnings back into its businesses, we will be in the unique position to drive digital transformation in the markets we serve. We are rapidly expanding our industry-specific CloudSuites and offering customer experiences and outcomes that are well beyond what is standard in enterprise software.” Per the press release, “the transaction is subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the first half of 2020. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.”

The required parameter is the lookup value and the optional one is start index. The lookup value is the element you are trying to find. The start index is where you want to start looking for the lookup value.

We’ve all been there. Excited for a new year. A list of goals, accomplishments, feats to conquer. But as January rolls on it’s suddenly February, and you’ve forgot about your “New Year’s Resolutions” — or you’ve given up on them. Fear not because there’s still time to cross things off that list and call this year a productive one by December. Deanna deBara at Trello shares how to keep yourself motivated and excited throughout the year. “To cultivate lasting change, motivation needs to be approached like a marathon rather than a sprint,” says deBara. Here are deBara’s 5 ways ways to keep your productivity high all year long.

  1. Mindset Matters – “Whenever you make a resolution, you have every intention of following through with it. But if you really want to succeed, don’t focus on your resolutions-focus on your mindset.” With a fixed mindset, you operate under the assumption that you’ve set yourself to a specific level and you cannot go beyond it. Instead, she suggests to operate under a growing mindset. Train yourself to believe that you have the capability to grow and change.
  2. When Motivation Is Lacking, Phone A Friend – “Staying motivated and productive all year round can be challenging – but adding a layer of social support can make it a whole lot easier.” Knowing there’s someone there to push you and motivate you drives you to want to do better.
  3. Make It Worth Your Time: Define Your Why – “Setting a resolution because you “should” do something may work for a little while – but if you don’t have a strong why behind your resolution, it’s going to be hard to stay motivated in the long-term.” Per deBara’s suggestions, you should reflect on defining why you chose certain new year’s resolutions. This can circle back to your mindset and further your motivation to follow through.
  4. Plan To Fail – “No matter how committed and motivated you are to hit a goal, you’re going to run into setbacks, mistakes, and failures. But if you plan – and work them into your goal from them get-go – it becomes much easier to stay committed and motivated in the long-term, even when you get off track.” Nobody is perfect so leave room for error. But prepare yourself and set up a plan to get back up and keep going.
  5. Forget Resolutions-Set Daily, Monthly, Quarterly, And Annual Goals – “Instead of trying to make major changes to your life, pinpoint some goals that you’d like to continuously improve on a daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. By breaking down larger resolutions into smaller, more achievable goals, you’ll be able to see more progress in real-time — helping you to stay motivated all twelve months out of the year.” The more achievable these daily goals are, the more motivated you are to stick to them.

New Year’s Resolutions can be a difficult thing to maintain all year long, but continue to find ways to motivate yourself and stay on top of wanting to change for the better. Maybe rollow deBara’s 5 steps above as a nice little guide to help you out.
