The business case for cloud computing
Enterprises are able to reduce costs on hardware, maintenance and tech support through the migration of data, apps and infrastructure to the cloud. Chris Nerney, Information Technology writer, states that by “placing compute resources on a cloud platform that is easily accessible on any device, enterprises make it easier for developers to build and collaborate on applications”. Cloud storage is also a worry-free concern for server capacity and expenditures. Additionally, Nerney believes that the most critical aspect of the cloud is that it provides the ideal platform for collecting and analyzing big data, all in real time. He concludes, “As data continues to grow exponentially, cloud computing will become a strategic imperative”.
